A Student Residence for ParisTech at the Cité Internationale (Paris International Campus of Student Residences)

On March 7,2007, The ParisTech Administrative Council approved a project creating a residence for ParisTech at the Cité Internationale of Paris. The agreement, signed with the Foundation of the Cité Inernationale for a period of 10 years, beginning in the autumn of 2008, stipulates that, at the historic Boulevard Jourdan site,175 housing units will be at the disposal of ParisTech for « transitory students, professors or researchers ».
The majority of these rooms will be situated at the Maison des étudiants de l’Asie du Sud-est. This magnificent building, designed in an oriental style by the architects, Martin and Vieu, was inaugurated in 1930 under the name of the Maison de l’Indochine. ParisTech and its member Institutes will also be able to use this Residence for events which contribute to the philosophy of the founders of the Cité Internationale, that is to say for the exchange, encounter and diffusion of knowledge and culture.
Through associating its name with the Maison des étudiants de l’Asie du Sud-Est, ParisTech will have the means for accommodating, in a very favourable manner, students and scientists from all over the world. ParisTech will thus become better known, and that can only favour the development of its international activities.
