The spirit of enterprise
Beside the fundamental knowledge on business life matters which the engineer needs: management, law, communication, economy, the ParisTech institutes usually include in their curricula a specific course on the setting up of businesses.
Start-up companies emerging from the research activity benefit from support by various company nurseries which are connected to ParisTech at different levels:
- Together with Ecole Normale Supérieure, Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris 6) and Paris-Dauphine University (Paris 9), ParisTech is a founding member of Agoranov, a publicly-owned nursery with a general range of activity.
- Besides, some of the institutes are connected to specialised nurseries, e.g. the Telecom Paris nursery which is open to students and alumni of that institute, and the Polystart nursery which is related to Ecole des Ponts.
